Creating Selection Ranges
You can create selection ranges in the Project window, the Sample Editor, the Audio Part Editor, the Key Editor, or the Drum Editor.
Procedure
- Select the Range Selection tool on the Project window, Sample Editor, Audio Part Editor, Key Editor, or Drum Editor toolbar.

Optional: Activate Snap, and select a Snap Type option.
This ensures that the range start and the range end snap to the set snap type option.
- Optional: On the Project window, Sample Editor, or Audio Part Editor toolbar, activate Snap to Zero Crossing.
This ensures that the start and the end of a selection of audio material are always at zero crossings.

Do one of the following:

Click at the position in the event display where you want the range to start, and drag to the position where you want the range to end.

Double-click an event to create a selection range that encompasses it.
NoteTo create a selection range that encompasses multiple events, hold down Shift, and double-click several events in a row.

, and select one of the menu functions.

Result
The selected range is highlighted in the event display, and the Range Start, Range End, and Range Length are shown on the info line.
