Defining frame constraints
You can lock/unlock constraints on each side of frames independently, for example, if you want to unlock the bottom constraint only for frames that you want to have a fixed height.
Prerequisite
If you want to define the constraints of frames on a master page, you have opened the master page in the master page editor.
Procedure
- In the Engrave toolbox, click Frames to show the Frames panel.
-
In the music area, select the frame whose constraints you want to define.
Note
You can only define constraints for a single frame at a time.
-
In the Constraints section, click the constraints that correspond to the sides of the frame that you want to lock/unlock.
Note
Frames must have at least one locked constraint from each pair of top/bottom and right/left, such as top and right.
Result
The constraints of the selected frame are changed. This affects which edges are locked to the corresponding page margin and whether the size and/or shape of the frame is changed on pages with different page sizes, orientations, and/or page margins. For example, frames with an unlocked top or bottom constraint have a fixed height. Similarly, frames with an unlocked right or left constraint have a fixed width.
After Completing This Task
You can change the size and/or shape of frames.
