Visual Analysis: Spectral Profile
The Analysis window allows you to create a spectral profile of your audio; that is, a visual representation of the average frequency of the audio.
The average frequency refers to the center of gravity of the frequencies, also referred to as the spectral centroid. The higher a value on the curve, the brighter the sound.
You can use the spectral analysis as an orientation guide, prior to and during mastering, or for quality assurance purposes following a mastering session.
If you are a beginner, experimenting with the settings in the Analysis window can support your learning process by providing you with insight into audio characteristics and the effects of audio processing.
The feature is available both for audio files in the Audio Editor and for clips in the Audio Montage window.
